Have a recipe to contribute....inspired by events during this time period.
Smoked Carrots with ginger
Some quantity of baby carrots
water
steamer basket/pot
1/2 tsp fresh ginger,sliced
1/2 c red onion
Place water in pot. Add ingredients to steamer basket/pot. Bring to boil.....continuously....until you smell essence of burnt sugar. At this time pot bottom should be blackened. Done. (Surprisingly they're good. :-) )
Mmm...sounds yum! I'm always looking for new carrot recipes. I think it's the vegetable that bores me the quickest (besides lettuce.)

I've sooooo done that with the steamer before -- but smoked broccoli, not as appetizing!
